Soccer and Things

Celtic Cup XIX 2004 has broken the 500+ teams barrier with its January edition for the first time. The goal [pardon the pun] of Celtic Cup is producing a tournament that is on time, generates excitement creates atmosphere, joviality and equitable competition. Success or failure in any endeavor is determined by preparation, integrity and quality of service. Celtic Cup 2004 provides a challenge and opportunity to make the tournament a special event. Celtic Cup is produced from the perspective and through the retina of participating players, coaches and supporting cast. Our objective is making the children competing here feel very special for a weekend. Pomp and ceremony are integral components of the tournament. Staff consists of the same young professionals who've been running it exclusively, since they were 16 years old; without them...woe-be-tide Celtic Cup.

99% of the teams in the January edition of the cup were accommodated per their weekend dates and flight request; all were accommodated. Approximately 100 hours were required to punctiliously bracket, schedule and allow coaches with several teams competing, coaching accommodation. We thank all competitors for participating.
New guests: Abunai, BU/9 HI, GU/13 OSC 91 OK, Potomac Cougars BU/13 MD.
Are the best actually in the west?

The dichotomy, beauty and combustibility of 24 team flights is the fact it allows teams of different expectations and chemistry the opportunity to compete against each other and still have "three championships Sunday night". Sunday morning changes and locks the flight into 3 separate divisions. 24 team flights done the Celtic Cup way is highly expensive but well worth it.

U/9 and U/10 are the fastest growing age groups in soccer as evidences by the 16 fields of teams in Celtic Cup 2004. By the end of this March Celtic Cup will have produced 103 weekends of tournaments with only 4 rainouts in its history. Celtic Cup is donating $5.00 per team to the fire victim's fund for every team competing in Celtic Cup 2004.
One of the great joys of the cup is seeing coaches here who've played in many a Celtic Cup in the cold and rain in their youth.

Celtic Cup philosophy is a belief in good fun, humility in victory, grace in defeat, and of course resolving the odd squabble. Children covet the challenge of competition at Celtic Cup; scoring goals helps the cause in this tournament.

Remember, the ref's are right, "3Blind Mice" not their favorite song.

An old Druid Proverb:
"It's not the will to win that counts, it's the will to prepare"!

Celtic Cup XX 2005 will be two decades of fun; rest assured, it will be the mother of all tournaments in 2005!
